A special version of the limited edition of Battlefield 3 is up for preorder on GAME. Named Battlefield 3: Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack, it includes the Back to Karkand map pack that is included in the regular limited edition of the game, but also comes with a “Physical Warfare” pack also which includes: Type 88 LMG with bipod, Flachette ammo for DAO-12 shotgun, flash suppressor for SKS sniper rifle and Day 1 access to the DAO-12 shotgun. This pack seems to be exclusive to GAME leading people to believe that other retailers will also get their own exclusive packs.
I don’t know if this is a good thing or not as it fragments the audience by giving them different weapons/advantages based purely on where they buy their game. Medal of Honor give people who bought the limited edition exclusive access to the M60 which was bad enough, but the fact the this pack includes special ammo, a suppressor and a bipod version of a LMG (which will presumably give it more accuracy when prone or when resting it on a rock/wall) is just a bad idea full stop.
Why can’t EA just release the damn game, normal edition and limited edition, with the LE coming with the Back to Karland map pack, instead of all this retailer exclusive bullshit, which just confuses and segregates the community? Give everybody the same weapons so that nobody has an unfair advantage, or at least give everyone the option to have better weapons in DLC weapon packs that are available for everyone to buy, not retailer exclusive which automatically locks out a section of the community from obtaining them.
