EA has said that PS3 users will be getting a multiplayer demo tomorrow (USA) and Wednesday (Europe), just like the PC which gets its demo today. EA said it “is so people can judge for themselves. Does changing one word in the menu screen have any impact on the actual play offthe game that takes place in Afghanistan? If they think we shouldn’t have done that, I urge them to play it.”
The date hasn’t been confirmed for the demo, but can be expected when the PSN updates on Tuesday for the USA and Wednesday for Europe.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but looks like the demo won’t be going ahead after all according to this post on the official MoH forums by Bazajaytee.
It looks like the original story I read on the PlayStation Blog could have been due to some misundertanding in the wording of Jeff Brown’s interview with Kotaku:
The reason we’re posting the multiplayer demo next week is so people can judge for themselves,” EA spokesman Jeff Brown told Kotaku. “Does changing one word in the menu screen have any impact on the actual play of the game that takes place in Afghanistan? If they think we shouldn’t have done that, I urge them to play it.
He could have only been talking about the PC demo/Beta that came out on Monday.
Also, apologies for not including the link to the PS Blog in the original post.
